Instructions
Hollyhock can be direct sown but like with many seeds, sowing them indoors gives you more control over their environment and may improve your germination success rate. Hollyhock appreciate a cool start so its easy to do as no heat is required. Tall plants stretch for light and low light will make a plant leggy so providing bright light above them is best. Sow seeds 2 mm deep and provide them with a hardening off period before transplanting. Germination is 20 to 30 days. Direct outdoor sowing can be done May or August. It is best to avoid higher temperatures as it affects germination success.
