Seed Details:
This variety produces spires of bright white tubular florets with vividly deep pink/red speckled throats. Flowers 1st year from early sowing fall sowing. Useful in a wildflower garden as it self-sows easily. Ancients founded the medicinal uses that are still used today in the treatment of heart problems. Hummingbirds love the early and late blooms. Cut flowering stems down to the ground to encourage second spikes. Very easy to grow. Attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Will self sow in warmer climates. Stunning in day bouquets. Foxglove is a hardy biennial plant meaning is grows greenery in the first year and maybe a small flower stalk. In its second year its spire is tall and luxurious. After its second year it will die back, but if you let it go to seed , it will self sow readily and give you a show for years to come.
Instructions:
Direct sow 2 mm in the Fall or early Spring. Keep area moist for best germination.
Habitat:
Foxglove will grow almost anywhere. Does very well in part shade but can stand full sun to as its blooms will have faded by the hot summer months. Is drought tolerant but will put on a longer show if watered regularly.
